macOS worked surprisingly well on my t460s until Ventura gave me video problems. They ported the wifi drivers from OpenBSD at some point so you might be able to play around with it without buying a new wifi card. ThinkPads are great, I got my mum an X240 when she needed a new laptop (and then she got another X240 after spilling coffee on it)

If you run Linux and dont care about fucking with stuff, AMD is cheap and can be overclocked to compete with intel. It is not as stable though, and you will run into issues if you try to do non linux AI stuff.

You will spend half as much on an AMD pc than an intel pc though.

Unrelated but I am incredibly happy that Endless Ocean 1&2 is getting a sequel on the Switch. I love the Endless Ocean games on the Wii.

Original "Duke" Controller was the best controller ever. I wish the dpad was more of a playstation dpad though. Only complaint.
