just saw that lycos shut down the servers to both angelfire and tripod back in april......worst day of my life man like u have gotta be KIDDING me :((( how am i going to archive things now. we really cant have anything, can we. hopefully theres sites archived on the wayback machine because ohhhh my god this sucks

I was in the middle of trying to save sites on Tripod in April when they shut it down! I could cry at everything that's been lost. :( Back in 2019 the archiveteam had a project to save Angelfire sites but there wasn't a similar effort for Tripod so it's a crapshoot whether those sites got saved and, even if they did, how thorough the save was.
@divergentrays it really is so sad to see huge swaths of the old web disappear like this :( tripod & angelfire sites were some of the last sites of their kind that were still accessible w/o archives and losing access to them sucks 😭
