Have you read No Longer Human? I don't know if this is "dark" exactly, but my favorite book centers around a series of murders & is called Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead.

& yeah, I hated My Year of Rest & Relaxation, so much so that it's one of my least favorite books ever, & I think that's the same author as Lapvona & Eileen.

Have you heard of Magda Szabo? I read "The Door" from her which was fantastic. I will admit though that I'm not 100% on what dark fiction is.

@vashti I've heard so many mixed reviews about My year of Rest and Relaxation, I just thought Eileen was so boring I couldn't even bring myself to hate it lol. It feels like it was made for the same audience that likes Gone Girl a little too much

@iwillneverbehappy I've never heard of her before but I just added it to my holds! also don't worry about it I kind of just made that label up because I'm not really well versed with book genres lol.

LOL! i got my start microblogging (the micro part is debatable) with writing walls of text in instagram spam account (the spam part is also partially debatable) stories and captions so maybe thats why.. but thats also what im going for, tonally, so im glad. yay!

The only podcast I listen to is Philosophize This w/ Stephen West & I really like it :-)
