it's like, seeing the same sites every day is similar to seeing my neighbors on my way to work. you get to see the familiar ones and notice when a new one moves in. it feels more connected than social media ever has for me
I think part of why it feels so good compared to what social media has become is that indie web gives you back agency over your own curation. No evil algorithm driving engagement to sell adds, just cool folks you found making cool stuff.
It is also VERY reassuring knowing you can spend a lot of time on something and it will always be visible instead of being buried to the bottom of a feed. (These posts dont count, I'm talking about site creations)
