I added a new article to the UFO - Life Advice to Younger Autistics, Part 1, the first in a two part series of things that I wish someone had told me at a younger age. The second part will be done hopefully by the end of this weekend. I also added a new category in the Autism section as I have tentative plans to make more autism-related advice articles directed at various situations and groups in the future.

all of your autistic writings are so awesome, i feel you're taking tomes of information and condensing it for the rest of us so we can understand ourselves better. thank you!

Thank you so much, @FragmentandReflect! You give me too much credit. It's just reading of personal anecdotes and formal research, coupled with excessive rumination. I lived for a quarter century without any words for any of the phenomena that ruled my life, and would've still been in the same proverbial cave, if it wasn't for encountering the wisdom of the autistic community, which started this journey.

Another thought-provoking piece Koshka. Ideally there would be no stigma and no sense of "us and them" but rather a mindful and considerate awareness of differences in all.

Thank you very much, @BMH! I fully agree with you.

The upcoming article that I was working on was getting a tad too long even by my standards, and I was worried about people avoiding it like the Personality Disorders due to the sheer length. As such, I wound up cutting out the part about autistic inertia, and turning that into its own article, which is now up on the Autism section. I also added a new Affiliate to the Portal/Dock. Enjoy!

nice alliteration w/ the tractor analogy ;D and i also adore all the personal life examples u brought up this time. it really fleshes it out!!

It's very important for me to have the opportunity and freedom to immerse myself in a project - I came away from college feeling frustrated that there were things I wanted to pursue further but the curriculum insisted we move on to the next topic. “We can come back to that later” hardly ever works, especially with something creative; I can schedule it in on paper, I’ll turn up for class, but my brain probably wont!

The part about the mental effort and the handgrip device was surprising but relatable and I like that you use this unseen effort to discount laziness. I too have found that building routines works to get/keep me on track; it is also important to recognise and address unhelpful ones (like sitting at the computer first thing). I try to avoid thinking about if I feel motivated.

P.S. On https://koshka.love/autism/index.html you have 2021 instead of 2022 for this page ;-)

Thank you very much, @holeinmyheart! I'm glad you liked the examples! The alliteration was a happy accident, and I honestly didn't even notice it until I read your comment. Ɑ:

@bmh Thank you for catching that error! I relate to your struggles a lot. Western education systems are awful for a lot of people (autistic/introverted especially), and I wish I had the words for all of these things back when I was in college/grade school, instead of spending years struggling despite being told that I was intelligent.

Sitting down at the computer first thing in the morning is definitely a recipe for disaster. It's just unfortunate how much of what we do is now utterly reliant on the computer in this day and age. There are ways to address this (physical books for reading, MP3 players for music, and so on) but they can only do so much...

Did a minor update to the "'Odd' Autistic Behaviours and Why We Do Them" article, explaining why autistic people tend to inexplicably change the subject to ourselves during conversations so often. I am working on a MAJOR autism-related article that I hope to be done with soon, and it occurred to me that with all of the personal anecdotes littering it, I should make a note clarifying this tendency beforehand.

Thank you so much, @vencake! I seriously appreciate that you are open-minded enough to want to hear from actually autistic adults such as myself! There is so much misinformation out there because of how the mainstream narrative around autism is dominated by non-autistic people, so hearing you say that, especially considering your profession, makes my heart sing. (:

Took down the Christmas theme that was on the front page in light of Russian Christmas and New Year's having passed, added seven new links to the Dock, and fixed some broken links on the Autism section. Hopefully, I am not scaring too many pink-phobic visitors away with the default aesthetics of the front page...

Wrote a follow-up article to my original Intense World Theory article, explaining dyspraxia via the lens of the theory, and proposing a new, more accurate and informative definition for the autism spectrum via the findings of the theory.

I had a chance to read thorugh your latest autism writings properly and they're awesome. one thing that's come up for me when pondering all the complexities of neurodivergency is that the whole ideo of judging intelligence by Western linear logical IQ criteria is very limiting, as it doesn't take into consideration visual, sensory or emotional intelligence.

Every time you release a new autism article, I learn another thing about myself. I didn't know that there was a word for why I was dangerously clumsy and had such difficulty learning physical tasks as a child (still do!) Thank you for another great addition to your growing autism library.

Merry Christmas (again) and happy New Years! The Jazz Jackrabbit Christmas Episodes fan-shrine, Burrowsville, is finally up and running over at the Mystery Mansion! Enjoy! As usual, please enable JavaScript and do not use Internet Explorer as it unfortunately does not properly support CSS animations. ):

@lolwut Sadly it does not support CSS animations, so a number of things on this page will not even show up in Internet Explorer. Same with my other DOS game fan-shrines. It is not something I can do anything about. ):

I was simply making a little joke; you had already explained in your first comment why visitors should not use Internet Explorer to view the page. The fan shrine is so excellently made that I didn't mind starting up another browser just so I could view it properly.

Thank you, my friend! I just wanted to make sure as my remark may have come off a tad abrasive. I was actually running out the door when I put the update up and trying frantically to get all of the boilerplate stuff done ASAP to avoid being late.

After a month's worth of work, my ZZT game Santa's Advocate is finally available for download! Many thanks to jvlfools @lolwut, and Surlent for beta-testing and providing lots of helpful feedback towards making the final game better! Also added a nightmare I had last night to the Somnium and fixed the mismatched EV/PPDV links in the ZZT games reviews sections (thanks to @holeinmyheart for catching that.)

Thank you so much, @HoleinMyHeart! You just made my day! I must reference Newton's quote about seeing far because he stands on the shoulders of giants, as it took many legendary ZZTers of decades past to really show just how much can be coaxed out of this seemingly limited engine. I'm very glad you liked the love story, as I honestly had a lot of doubts about whether it would turn out good. (:

Happy Winter! I fixed the broken link to my Santa's Lil' Helper ZZT game (thank you to @lolwut for pointing that out!!), added a new dream to the Somnium, and delayed Santa's Advocate by one day to Christmas Day to allow myself more time to work on it and the beta-testers more time to play through it.

I'm currently going through a quiet dream phase where I haven't written any down for a while, but last night I recall that I was stargazing in one with my brother, and a few nights ago I was having a meal with Joe Rogan.

@HoleinMyHeart Thank you so much for pointing that out! I will have to fix that as part of tomorrow's update with Santa's Advocate, at this point.
