obv you dont have to make your site anything you dont want but its just the. anti-accessibility sentiment i see a lot on the forum and personal web communities in general. feels very unwelcoming :/
buh buh this is my BLESSED OLD WEB RECREATION WEBSITE we can't have THE PESKY DISABLED and THE UNHOLY MOBILE USERS looking at my ramblings about if chili should have beans or not. ughhhh how have we gotten to the point where peoples' egos are too big for some @media stuff in your style sheets to make columns into rows 😭
I see this "not every site needs to be for everyone" mindset going around and it bothers me. like in theory I kind of agree but the problem is when everyone decides their site isn't for people who use phones, or have photosensitivity, or cognitive issues etc.
(character limit 😔) -try to be a part of the community. if i wanted i could truly let my site me my own private corner of the internet(or not on the internet period) but i want people to see it! i want to be a part of the community!
exactly! the moment you put your website online especially in a place where people can find it, your site is no longer just for you. and even if you argue that like, well not every place is gonna be accessible for everyone, again true, but now everyone decides their site is just not gonna be accessible even in cases where it's perfectly viable and reasonable.
