very uncomfortable with several "i dont care about accessibility so im not going to do it" replies on a forum post where many of people have described the importance of accessibility even on personal sites. and i dont like how people always bring up essential sites like "THESE should be accessible but its not important anywhere else". idk maybe disabled people want to do more online than just schedule dr appointments
obv you dont have to make your site anything you dont want but its just the. anti-accessibility sentiment i see a lot on the forum and personal web communities in general. feels very unwelcoming :/
buh buh this is my BLESSED OLD WEB RECREATION WEBSITE we can't have THE PESKY DISABLED and THE UNHOLY MOBILE USERS looking at my ramblings about if chili should have beans or not. ughhhh how have we gotten to the point where peoples' egos are too big for some @media stuff in your style sheets to make columns into rows π
I see this "not every site needs to be for everyone" mindset going around and it bothers me. like in theory I kind of agree but the problem is when everyone decides their site isn't for people who use phones, or have photosensitivity, or cognitive issues etc.
i wanna work on more pages soon but ive been hyperfixated on ffXIV. im also going on a trip to LA soon and might not have time to edit the site, but ill try to get a page or two made before then!
ahhh canceling neocities supporter doesnt work like most other subscriptions do. canceling early to avoid a reoccuring charge just ended this months membership 10 days early π£
