Today, I've been making some stone cladding for the fireplace using air dry clay. It's the first time I've used it and it seems to be going well, but there is more shrinkage than I thought. I'll probably need to make more stones to fill in the gaps. I know that I need to paint the fireplace so that any gaps will look like mortar. It's quite fun, really.
