Update: I am really happy with this batch; so far I have 8 in the brooder and two finishing hatching/drying out in the incubator.
It's a bit early to be raising and releasing caterpillars, but I thought I'd get started on this page anyways. I will probably work on some pretty Clara Dillingham Pierson style illustrations for this page too. (I highly recommend her books- I have been reading them since I was little and they are perfect for people of any age imho.
Snails are another nematode host, interestingly. I used to keep snails and I always had to be cautious bringing in wild ones.
That is interesting, I will add that! I collect wild crickets in the summer for my lizard, and I worry about similar things. Thanks again for the interesting bit of info :-)
Started a page on scavenger animals. They are such interesting creatures, and have such an important role in any biome. One of my favorites are turkey vultures. They are elegant, smart, and have very interesting lives. Their babies are also really cute.
