FINALLY someone else who recognizes the supremacy of the curderburger! (to be fair most people probably haven't had a chance to try it because it's never available)
It's so satisfying to encounter animals in the wild. I went hiking in Belgium last summer and encountered a wild fox. He just started at me for two seconds and ran away but that was the most memorable part of my trip. :)
Wow, that sounds like a beautiful moment. I had forgotten but you reminded me I saw a wild islandfox atop Catalina Island : so tiny. There are red & grey foxes where I live, but I haven't seen any yet.
I really appreciate your kind words. Their early music captured the feeling of the growing distance between myself and the people I grew up with.
Since I moved far away, I started listening to their music a lot less. Still, now that I think of it, the next time ( the first time ) I visit my family & oldhometown, it would be a good idea to put an album of MLA's on.
your words touch a feeling of comtempt with distance that really got me thinking of my own relationships and how music was a big part of it. MLA's music really is twee pop lol i didn't know that word existed till then. spreading a good energy to you from here! hope it all goes well.
Thank you both ^^ the artwork is from an edition of Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals
yaaay gainful unemployment! I hope you get to enjoy the downtime to the fullest! Looks like you're off to a good start. Happy summer!
thank you chey !! (^▽^) the downtime has been pretty great, & happy summer to you too !
I saw your gull’s page and instantly recalled this stanza from ‘Sea Fever’ by John Masefield: I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
Thank you for sharing that excerpt with me, Wren. That stanza speaks to me, especially as I saw the ocean and cried some days ago. I'm going to save it to add to the page later.
