i got frustrated enough about windows media player being buggy as shit that i just downloaded vlc media player, i had it on my old laptop but i never redownloaded it

i record some of my project diva gameplay using obs but the timeline is broken on obs recordings, i got frustrated about that and about videos edited in microsoft clipchamp not properly displaying/timeline also being broken
I've been using ScreenToGIF for screen recording if I don't need a facecam or anything, since OBS hasn't been playing nice with my video drivers. Hopefully they fix that by the next time something that warrants a scene podcast episode releases?
despite the name, ScreenToGIF can also save as video formats and animated PNG. it's pretty much the best free, lightweight screen recording program I've found. If you're on Windows 10 / 11, you can also screen record natively with Win + G to summon the gaming bar. (It doesn't care if the program you're recording is actually a "game".)
