Updated song of the week!! How do you feel about my sentiment? With some songs I feel like I'm taking out a piece of a Jenga tower when I listen to them on their own.
That's absolutely a fair assessment. Some albums are merely a collection of songs while others are crafted as a cohesive unit. Especially in cases like Tourniquet and Imaginary where the transition between the two is so seamless. Taking them out of context of each other would be a disservice.
I love albums that are crafted as one piece. I obviously always think of To Pimp a Butterfly with its interludes that people often look over. Every time I go back to that album, I have to listen to it in its entirety. There's a couple other albums that do that for me but I'm drawing blanks !! D:
