Pink was originally considered a masculine color because it's a lighter version of red, which was associated with Ares/Mars. Before World War II, AMAB babies wore pink and AFAB babies wore blue, a color associated with Aphrodite/Venus.

I am aware, but am nonetheless glad that you brought that up. It just goes to show how arbitrary these associations are, in spite of how seriously many people take them.
