i have a question: is using the "@media (prefers-A: B)" for color scheme, contrast, and/or reduced motion ok?

Yep, very much so! Media queries are are SUPER helpful. They have their limitations, though. People might not know those settings exist, for one. My setup disables all animation for people with prefers-reduced-motion on. I also have a GIF toggle that lets people override it if they want to. I definitely plan to talk about media queries in future updates, I can ping you when I do if you want :3
