this is silly but trying to refine some of my thoughts for a blog + want to get others perspectives: What are your thougths on yours and others' websites being shown off and popularised on more 'mainstream' internet spaces. what are your experiences with people approaching you and your site who maybe dont quite understand the vibes/etiquette of neocities and/or personal websites?
like all things, popularity will always bring bad apples, especially in internet spaces. i think part of the appeal of the indie web is that it's slightly more underground; theres not much of a pressure to appeal to a wide audience if that makes sense? however i see more and more people daily come to places like neocities and it makes me pretty happy :) even if the indie web becomes more popular, that also means we-
-get to see even more passionate people and amazing art in all shapes and sizes! it definitely a learning curve. i think one of the best parts of having a site is that it's hard to make (same with every other art form). but the more you learn and grow the more satisfying it becomes :D it's hard for a beginner to even understand what 'webrings' and 'buttons' are, let alone learning a whole coding language-
p.s. if this is *not* silly and you *do* have lots of thoughts my email is open hehe -w-;

-but we are a whole community of passionate people. this isn't really the place for people who just don't care, and that's what makes it beautiful :)
