It feels a bit crass for me to comment on such a personal entry, but I figured I'd just tell you how much I connected to your April 17th entry and thought about it some time after, especially with the checkpoints. Sometimes, the list of what I'm excited for is the only thing I feel I can hold on to, so I felt a sort of camaraderie reading, even though you speak of not really having any checkpoints right now.

I don't find it crass at all, thank you for commenting :) while I was writing it I did think "hey man at least we're getting a new Slick Rick album" but then thought "that's stupid that's not a genuine checkpoint" but then I went out and heard Slick Rick playing at the bar and went "actually this dude rules I AM excited for new Slick Rick album" so there is at least one checkpoint

Technically new album is just a rumor for now and has not been confirmed but Fox Mulder voice I wanna believe (in new Slick Rick album)

The amount of non-Google search engines that have AI shit is legit disheartening. I've stuck with Duckduckgo for as long as I can remember and was disappointed with the AI, I considered jumping to Ecosia or Startpage but I didn't know they fell into it too. Welcome to the future!!1!

In the past few years I've gone from Google to Duckduckgo to Ecosia to Brave (I know, ew), now Duckduckgo seems the least evil + most functional of these familiar 4. Startpage really doesn't seem to have any AI as far as I can tell, but then again it is harder and harder to tell these days, and if the search function is no good then it's irrelevant. We'll see!

Brave was probably the second worst I used after Google... It was literally just a reskinned Google Chrome, the privacy features were just a meme, and had crypto shit built in... Fuck off...
