this resonates with me a lot, and i decided to go offline on most platforms for reasons similar to yours mentioned here. my political energy is finite, and it took me way too long to realize that i was wasting it every time i try to yell out my latest rants to an audience where half considers my viewpoints too lukewarm and half considers them too radical. and no one has materially benefited from this one bit

Thank you for making me feel seen! I have a lot of thoughts, as per usual, but far too many for the neocities comment limitations. I just appreciate you taking the time to write, and for allowing us to read!

Lovely writing as usual. You are right! I used to spend my energy online arguing with strangers (who might as well just have been malicious people just aiming for views) to the point of not having energy to do anything in real life anymore. While there are online conversations worth having (this one is a good example), most of them are just distractions. Let's try to keep our focus and use our energy right!

the war is both online and offline, it is as Marshall McLuhan put it, "a guerrilla information war with no division between military and civilian participation". welcome to the battlefield, leave your humanity at the door.
