the feeling of futility in trying to point out the biases of someone who doesn't care is so infuriating. Some people truly just do not want to learn and would rather fruitlessly and endlessly try to "win". Sometimes its easier to get people to ignore bigots than it is to reform them.

this is probably not at all what you want to hear, but: you aren't responsible for changing people's minds or making them better people. taking this on as your mission is the pathway to madness. i think you should set your boundaries, stick to them, and focus attention on something more productive (which arguing with people who are hellbent on disagreeing with you will never be).
