Anyway though, all those thoughts asside, I am hopeful that this most recent attempt will get some traction and finally get me some income. The texture pack has a good chance of being more broadly useful, as my prior project releases were more specialist (for mathematicians, for indie creators, for game devs) whereas perhaps a greater number of people are wanting art. I also just love the interplay of watercolor!
In fact, what are all of you guys thoughts about my setup right now more broadly speaking? My attempts at online business are currently my only source of income and have been for many months now, which means I have almost zero income for months. I can't make much sense of why and in the long term I 've begun considering the possibility of switching to a host that lets me see fine-grained traffic info to survive.
Critically, this time I have released this project under a very short and informal license agreement because I am wondering if people aren't buying my other projects because they are too intimidated by my 35 page MAMIL license even despite how wholesome and generous it is (better than 95%+ of proprietary licenses I'd say). What do you guys think? Do you like my Undine Ink license on Itch or my MAMIL license more?

I think it's important, as a developer of anything, to be happy with the license associated with things you're selling. You might just do a TLDR; bit at the beginning of your license that goes over the broad important things people should know. I know obviously this is the point of a license, but I don't think you should challenge your own expectations with a creative work.

It would be good to know if the length of my MAMIL license is potentially a barrier to anyone deciding to get the items I have posted on my creative catalog(s). It is really unclear how much of the traffic I get is meaningful and how much of the outcomes are due to cost vs text length vs any number of other factors. I really need to somehow get a coherent understanding of what actually works. It's survival for me.

I'm not sure what path forward to take, is what I'm saying, considering the last several years I've gotten very little to no reliable apparent path forward that is actually viable, both outside my website efforts and inside. Perhaps I will try some cost reductions next to see if that is enough for some viewers to be willing to get my items. I wonder about platform trust's role (e.g. Ko-fi vs Payhip vs big sites) too.

Hey everyone! This morning I finally released the texture pack I've been talking about onto Itch! I actually had almost all of it done last night, but hadn't made a cover image yet and so I had to save it for today to finalize. I've also noticed that my site update has showed today, unlike last time, though I honestly no longer trust the meaning of the activity feed and/or view count whatsoever at this point anymore.

I added another log entry today, this time clarifying why I switched to the D programming language for my next project plans, but still like and use Racket and Factor and Tcl/tk for other purposes. Strangely though, today's log update doesn't even appear in my activity log, which I have never seen happen before for an update. Is anyone else having issues with site updates not posting to one's activity log?
Hey everyone, it's been a while! I finally finished producing the 500 seamless texture pack I've been working on and next will be working on preparing a description and packaging it up and distributing it in the next few days. In the meantime though, today I've posted a large ~1 page log entry that describes more extensively what I've been up to lately. Things are looking up again, especially if all goes well. 😄

PowerRename is your friend (in the MS PowerToys suite) for this sort of thing, if you're on Windows :)

Thanks for the tip saltedslug. I already have a program called "Advanced Renamer" installed and know how to use CMD and PowerShell too, but I'll keep the program you recommended in mind for if I have problems! Thanks!

I posted a minor update today about how the texture pack production is going so far. Basically, I am about half way done with the 500 texture image pack, approximately
