Have you ever seen My Summer Story/It Runs in the Family, the more traditional Christmas Story sequel based on Jean Shepherd's stuff? When I was a kid, I saw it before A Christmas Story, by years, and I was fascinated that "the movie where the kid's mom gets a lot of gravy boats" had a predecessor.
