i think the most notable thing that sets neocities apart from anything else is the fact that if u wanna share media or anything like that u can put it in your own website and link it back i think thats really really nice actually

yeah, it's really cool.. instead of trying to figure out how to make sure it's not suppressed by an algorithm or anything like, you can just figure out where to fit it onto your site
