in the book i'm reading (spell of the sensous) the author talks about a trip to bali in which he learned that some people there treat ants as home spirits and offer them rice everyday. this keeps the spirits happy.

ants have been my bedroom companions because I keep chocolates on the nightstand and candy wrappers under my bed. Lol
