I'm really mad that the amount of people advertising Vimm on long piracy masterlists on Tumblr etc led to the DMCAs. It's like they knew this could happen but thought since this site is so old it'd be an exception... But it's not. I'm so used to these things being talked about and distributed under-the-table and staying online because it was only namedropped in private.
Back when I was into console modding people would mainly talk about these in code words like "that one site" etc. and you had to do a little detective work to figure out what that was. And even though "that one site" inevtiably went down, it stayed up longer because it was a walled garden in its own way.
