Your banner is a bit too large (50% of your site), and since it's the first image that loads, the performance isn't very nice in uncucked locations (outside of SoCal). you can use mozjpeg if you want, but getting the encoder up and running is more involved for me whereas gimp had built-in support for webp encoding
