i've reached a point where a non-insignificant ammount of stuff i want to put on my site would require use of an javascript api. the problem here is, as far as i'm aware api keys need to be kept private (like in a backend); and i don't think neocities has a backend support even for paid users

i have two options here. admit defeat and go back to the drawing board, or put the keys in the frontend anyways and hope nobody decides to snatch them. also i could self-host and whatnot which would solve the problem but i don't think i could realistically pull that off
