what the fuck is up, I have now lost basically every digital file I have made since 2021. made a backup to my external drive. deleted old backups to save space bc I thought the system utility would work. did not move external and it worked yesterday. plugged in drive after reinstall...and files were not there. what the fuck
When I make and copy a backup folder to an external drive (because I did not have the partition space to have two copies of everything) with the system backup utility, I expect it to BE THERE when I plug in that drive after reinstalling! Because that's how backups work!
good news is that all my most important creative stuff is on here and I have my work computer for KeePass and my required school and work files, but I just lost all personal creative work and photos that didn't go onto the site. not that I looked at them but...
good news is that the story I wrote last night is on 4thewords and file garden, and I think my windows partition is OK so my sona ref revamp clip file should persist. so this shouldn't disrupt site operations...
Hopefully I can finally fucking open FreeTube again without it crashing. that's all I wanted. I don't understand how an issue with my graphics driver even turned into being unable to successfully boot in the first place and how it got to this point. https://xkcd.com/349/
