I just noticed it too, it does look a bit odd at first since I'm used to the light mode but it is good they have it now

Kate is such a lovely text editor. I wish I'd've known sooner how useful it is

I looked it up, does it have advantages over VS Code?

I have only used VS Code very briefly in the past, so I wouldn't know if Kate has any advantages over VS Code. I think Kate might be lighter?

I was using the default text editor for GNOME as well LOL but the website became a tad too complicated to manage with just that

More page spam, apologies. Been tinkering with the structure in the background

you should be able to standardize thing like that in a stylesheet or other non-html file that when updated will not spam these updates, then just have all pages load that file as needed. Depending on what you're doing and how of course.

I am not quite sure what you mean. I am updating each post page because, for example, the label that points to a specific place in the JSON changed.

My apologies, I thought you meant the background of pages

I have found Latin, Koine Greek, and Dutch translations of the BCP (1662) as scanned documents. I am tempted to start another long-term project where I digitise them as a 4-language parallel BCP page on my site.

The android app for Wikipedia now has an algorithmic, infinite-scroll "For You" page. Nothing is safe

Update: it isn't infinite, the well has a bottom

😂 we are so doomed. At least, that's what I would've said had I learned his before getting into the indie web. Now there's a reason my home page starts with "The internet is not dead, you were just in the graveyard. Welcome back to the land of the living."

The the hand-made web is alive and well! I imagine that it will only grow more popular. What I find extremely ironic, is that someone made a doom-scrollable wikipedia (https://xikipedia.org/) a while back, as a *joke*, like "haha wouldn't it be funny if an online encyclopedia had a scrollable algorithm feed". But it seems that the irony has gone over the heads of the Wikimedia foundation

I am increasingly glad I have the indie web as an escape, as I am increasingly frustrated by the decisions of companies to remove humanity from everything

Thank you!! :D I don't think any of my projects have ever reached this many eyes, I am very grateful for everyone that has followed and seen my little website! I'm still working on some things, though I don't know when exactly I'll be able to publish them.

I have merged my drawing, updates, and wurmwords pages into one blog that will become the main focus of my website! I have also started on some calligraphy, which yall can read more about on the latest Wurmwords post

I find people that can learn languages for fun (especially constructed languages - which I was only aware of from Klingon) very interesting because my brain completely does not work like that!

I am definitely not the greatest language learner! I tried to learn Korean for many years, to no avail. I chose Latin and Greek in secondary partly in order to avoid doing French and German, and even then I was doing translation exercises mostly off of vibes. I learned to love the Classical world in the process, however, and that's usually how I approach language, as a window into a specific culture that interests me

That makes sense. I’d love to learn koine greek one day as it would be great to read the apostles in their own language

Koine Greek is a lovely language! You should definitely learn at least a little bit at some point. I learned all the main dialects back in secondary, and we did one unit of Koine, reading passages from Luke and Acts.
