it doesn't work. individuals try to use it to protect their media from profit-seekers. meanwhile, companies and corporations use it to claim intellectual sovereignty over all media that will ever be created, thereby undermining any benefits it might have for the individual.
Should be abolished. 9/10 out of ten, its used by big companies to hurt the little guy, not the other way around. Think, nintendo and mario 63 or disney and fanart.

its never meant to protect individual works since its inception, and independent artists have everything to gain if its abolished
