sveltekit is pretty nice. I was originally going to use it as well for static site generation but chose hugo instead because I felt like svelte's frontend JS was a bit much for serving non-interactive pages.

it does feel a little overkill at times, but it's good to use. I definitely get using something like hugo though, that's probably a better choice for most sites
