Wholeheartedly agree and trying to live by this. But it's hard, because at least personally, I feel like i have to constantly resist the society and people around me trying to convince me otherwise. That you need all of types of stuff to make your life more comfortable and efficient, when it's a waste of money, space, and energy... great thoughts!
I've been trying to get rid of things ever since I moved and was confronted with how much junk i collected over the years that just wasn't necessary. Super inspirational and reminds me again of that i'm on the right track! Simple and sturdy beats hi-tech anyday. Rant over sorry to spam on your update! But love it!
(Last comment, promise) as a way to guide myself towards living more minimalistically but effective a while ago I tried to distinguish all my stuff in whether i Need it, Use it, or, as a leeway to myself and sentimentality, Love it. if it was neither of those, it was an easy decision to get rid of it. sometimes it's really hard to tell these apart so this helped me a lot
I'm in the same boat when it comes to society and my circle of friends trying to convince me that this or that gadget would make my life so much more comfortable, when in fact I can often manage just fine without it
[1] after my second move this year i no longer have a microwave - and its occurred to me i dont really even need one, already having a stove? and do have a tv now, but dont even use it... damn; [2] a tangent, but, part of me's been wanting to pivot toward such digitally too, i.e paring down on the amount of files n everything i got on my devices... gets so overwhelming for me otherwise, but its a slow process
