I stopped reading firefly wedding before getting to all that stuff that you mentoined, now i'm really glad i did.. the first couple of chapters were solid but it really felt odd how things progressed with shinpei. maybe it was the translation i was reading but at one point i really felt like he was talking to her like a therapist instead of like the actual person he's supposed to be.

@4cornersofpluto sorry for the very late reply but same! At first I thought my translation was bad but then I read the official translations from Comikey and it was very much the same in its jarring pacing. It felt like the big moments simply happened because they had to. And I don't want to go on a tangent about the dialogue cause that'll make me rant but I full on agree and it gets worse later on.
