hello! there is nothing wrong with using a template. you're learning and that is what templates are for! please don't feel like you have to make your own site!
if you want, what i use to make my site is called https://grid.layoutit.com/ . i use that to build a base for me! if you ever need help, please feel free to email me!!
Even if you're using a template your site is very cute! If you want to try something else but you aren't the best at coding I suggest you find either a template and play around with it on https://liveweave.com!! Or find a site you like and try to search up what they did and how they did it so you can customize it to make your own site. https://www.w3schools.com is also extremely helpful if you want to learn
