Universitys / Community Colleges are a pain to do. I would recommend trade schools but, I'm not in your shoes. Colleges are eager to take your money but, they have poor management skills for enrollment. You have to bug them all the time for a status and try to stick with the same counseler.
Good seeing you again. I'm still brainstorming about my plans but the college I am looking into seems to have some trade career paths that I am interested in. At least I hope I am making the right move going back.
I recommend Sophia (college). You download a pdf and ctrl + f it to find the answers to the test. If you pass the test, you get credits. College isn't there for learning but to build 'networks' and party. If you're main purpose is to get a job then I'll go that route. It's ACE accredited. Lots of companies pay to train you up to operate heavy equipment and construction. There's options and I don't mind helping.
My buddy and I had a side-hustle when I was in CA and we did some small time gigs like concrete, wood-work, etc. I'll have to ask him for more details if you want more details on that end.
