Hey i read it and really liked it. :) Regarding Rei, in my experience, its not uncommon for queer folk to consider identifying as trans before deciding theyre cis-gay. Although ive only ever met cis lesbians who have this experience. Theyll show up to our support group once and then decide its not for them. *shrug*
thanks so much for reading! it's great to hear someone elses experience and thoughts. in that way you describe, of considering and then realizing they're cis-gay, i did enjoy rei's route. though i have trouble picking apart, the face he feels like an individual struggling for his own identity is something i felt was a great positive. we definitely need more narratives of exploration regarding gender and sexuality!
