Games that have not only their own graphical style, but also their own geometry engine, are the ones that look the coolest (I think of Doom, Minecraft and Eskil Steenberg's "Love" right now). Video games express themselves with their technology so much more than other artforms - while you use technology to make movies and music, video games _are_ technology.
With that said, This Is (NOT!) A Car Club was made out of standard three.js concepts. The new game will have more custom shaders written by me that replace some (but absolutely not all) of the standard three.js stuff.
It seems like to be great you have to be original (but not everything original is great). Because of this I'm also trying to stay away from nostalgia - instead of looking at what is now, or what was before, what can we look forward to that we haven't seen yet? That's what I want to create.
