my latest journal entry (the most recent is always embedded on my main page btw!) was something i've really had trouble accepting for a while especially with some people's attitudes towards disabilities online. but i genuinely do want to seek treatment and train for my legs to work properly and i can't believe social media clout chasers of all things convinced me otherwise
i've had this same experience online. it's insane to me that people will tell disabled people that wishing you weren't disabled is "internalized ableism" ... i'm shaking your hand and supporting you through your recovery! social media is sadly some of the most ableist, anti-recovery places i've ever been in
@moonview TRUE like i get the sentiment for things like autism that can't be "cured" but like.. depression? trauma? PHYSICAL PAIN? that's not the same!!
