Your essays are so well-written and thought-provoking! As an "artist" myself (or hobbyist? It doesn't make a lot of difference to me), I really resonated with the one about writing and self-publishing; it made me think of how often I am told to sell and market my creations, when in reality I just want to create for the sake of it, because it makes me feel.
