for my gallery landing page i'll separate between 2d, 3d, videos, and photos! 2d and photos will be more specific to year and events respectively, while 3d and videos will just take you to every example in reverse chronological order

photo gallery is coming a lot later though xD i have a lot of photos but they're a pain in the butt to organize...

moincrecefeft also you could make it look better by having it hidden until it loads the text, or remove the defer attribute and replace the window.onload with document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", loadText), or just remove the window.onload, keep the defer attribute and call the function in the js immediately i unno crazy ramblings from stupid not sure how effective they would be i didnt check cuz im lazy

if i do decide to make drawn buttons, i'll just scrap the whole navbar idea and have them kinda in the center. but then idk, i don't wanna make my homepage too minimal?!? i'm like flip flopping between wanting a minimalist homepage vs a maximalist homepage lolol

i'm kinda looking at https://bennizone.net/ as a point of inspiration where it's a persona next to a bunch of hand-drawn buttons. but i also wanna have other stuff, i just don't know how to incorporate it! and i really wanna lean into more of a city theme somehow.....

i was thinking for my webrings and neighborhood section, it can be buttons instead of a tiny scrollbox, and you click them to pop out a bigger window. the neighborhood could be a row of houses and the webrings could be idk, a roundabout?? xD

could use this as inspo aswell https://daftpatience.neocities.org think its somewhat similiar to the vibe you described wouldn a neighbourhood be a bit much ;-; i mean yea itd be cool if executed correctly but kinda hard to make xd

and for the neighborhood thing, i'm not gonna draw a whole town of houses for each site, it'll just be a button that you click to show all the sites like a popup. the drawing is just a couple houses. it'd be cool to do something super ambitious like that though...
