The original protestant denominations that came from Europe almost have more in common with us now than they have in common with the "American protestantism." My family come from these kooky post-1800s era groups, the kind that get obsessed with trying to calculate the end times. I try to stay ecumenical when dealing with them, especially as I have to also honor my parents, but... Man their idea of God is... pride.
