I'm really happy to have found Bessis' book through your latest entry, it is definitely going high on my list of to-reads. About a year ago on Neocities I was recommended MacLane's book "Mathematics, Form and Function" where MacLane draws analogies between basic human actions and their abstract mathematical counterparts, to make similar points as Bessis.
