got accepted into he doodlering webring but i display my webring widgets on an iframe and i dont think i can edit the widget to open links in another tab so trying to go to the next site in the ring will just. break it. so i might have to have my webrings on a separate page from the main site entirely, at least until i find a cleaner solution, i really want my webrings to be on the home page though RAAAAAGH

i love toxic ships btw not because i think the toxicity is cute but because its so interesting from a story perspective. when i write characters i almost always go into it with the idea that theyre kind of an asshole because flawed characters and relationships are way more fun to write and watch

i think online shipping and kink discourse has completely gone off the rails and left everyone with this black-and-white mindset of either "any dark topics portrayed in art is wrong and gross!" or "its actually perfectly fine that i jack off to drawings of children" and i am so sick of seeing people on either side of this shitty debate try to claim they have the "better" opinion when theyre both just wrong

this is the one opinion i will make very very clear, my artwork has dark subjects. a lot of my horror art is meant to portray my mental (and sometimes physical) health struggles. i wont shy away from gross subject matter. but i think we kinda lose the fucking plot when we start to go "actually im gay and i was groomed so if you kinkshame my rape fetish porn youre homophobic". everyone here needs a hobby

i think once im done with my site graphics (which i might actually put aside for now bc i only have 2 left to make anyways), im gonna spend some time in my sketchbook. im very happy with my art as of late but i still want to do a bit of studying and experimenting with my art style!

hitting the sketchbook was a good idea i spent like 4 pages designing a new character and im so freaking obsessed with her. i also tried out a slightly different technique for drawing guidelines and giving my characters unique silhouettes, not much different from what i was previously doing but SO much more effective at getting the results im aiming for
i never knew just how badly i needed this level of customization until i actually entered the indie web scene. now that i have the freedom to do literally whatever i want, i get genuinely angry at how little you can do to customize your pages on social media. some dont even give you the option to add a banner its annoying!

i really am glad i started embracing the weirder side of my art. ive been more loose with it and letting myself use all the "not aesthetic" ideas and its been working out great for me, i havent been this happy with my art in months

tbh the only DNIs i understand are adults not wanting minors to interact esp if its like an NSFW account, but its still kinda useless, just block the people you dont want interacting instead of making a fuss ab it
