Your writing on finding transcendence in nature reminded me of a book that I am reading currently, entitled 'Strange New World' by Carl Trueman. He is a Christian theologian, so you may not agree with his conclusions, but he discusses the ideas of the Romantics and how they found transcendence within chapter two, and I found it interesting. You might too.
I will definitely check that chapter out! Thank you so much for the recommendation and thanks as well for checking my little blog! Even though I abandoned Christianity as a belief system, I still cherish its intellectual dimension, so I’m definitely interested in what Christians have to say. Also, I love the Romantics. Thanks for stopping by!
My love for scholasticism and the philosophy of religion is the main reason behind why I decided to study theology at an undergraduate level. There's definitely a lot of valuable perspectives to think about (and read) both from secular and religious authors. Whilst I don't agree with certain key Romantic ideas because of my faith, I think there are a lot of things Christians could learn from them, too.
It is refreshing meeting people who are able to learn from different schools of thought even though they disagree with some aspects of them. Sadly, I don’t encounter that way of approaching knowledge that often. I find awesome the fact that you are studying Theology, it must be really interesting! I recently watched a video about the theology of St. Gregory of Nyssa.
Thanks for keeping an eye on my blog! I’ll keep an eye on yours as well, it’s really interesting! I have enjoyed the two posts on minimalism, since I also struggle with mental fatigue fairly often.
