would sizing down the images in my art page be enough keep them from taking the page 90 years to load or should i make previews

tbh id go with downsizing them
make a crime against older browsers and convert them into .webp format, it'll take up at least half the size of regular jpg or png images
if i didn’t have a burning hatred for webp i would…
