Check out what happens in Indonesian recycling industries. As for the plant-based diets, this can be done; however, it has been stigmatized by the mainstream throughout the years.
Thanks!! I think it was morean out of the spur moment rant of my feelings at this point but yes, I agree that it may be a losing battle but I see it more as a game of attrition. I was researching climate realism which is slightly more realistic since it argues that efforts to transition away from fossil fuels are failing and rather focuses on adaptation and addressing why we are not making any changes.
As for the recycling issue, less than 10% of recycled plastic is actually recycled so I've just found it best to focus on using reusable items and reducing my consumption. Thanks for the youtube reccomendation - I'll check it out!!

In the middle of the ocean, there is a "Great Pacific Garbage Patch", which is a collection of plastic and floating trash the size of two Texas.
