once again begging people to at least try to make an effort to credit makers of graphics, ESPECIALLY in "resource" galleries. that's someone's time effort and art you're not crediting, using as your own content, then whoever saves it from you will also not credit because you didn't provide a source. i get it for some things being lost to time but if i view a gallery without a single link i get so dismayed lol

tips: save the image with the makers name in it like makernamefilename.gif, then at least you or somebody else knows where to begin looking for the source

ngl i think it's time we shame ppl for blatantly not even bothering to try. and "credit to the maker" isn't credit lol. it's bad netiquette fam

oh and i see this constantly: repositories also aren't credit. someone taking something and resharing it isn't credit to the original maker, it's a link in the chain of the source being lost. saying where you got something is different from actual credit

alternate resolution: be a boss and make your own graphics

This was such a part of the original old web ethos! So many of the old graphics sites I love to look through and collect have admonishments to not steal and give credit.

kipm4: i understand and appreciate the sentiment, but then someone else will take yours and do the same thing. i guess the problem i'm yapping about is the mentality that using anything is okay, and being too lazy to keep track of and source things is also okay

divergentrays: i won't lie, it's always been a problem, but i see it a Lot More nowadays. i think a big contributor is due to a lot of older sites being deleted, but i'm also seeing a Lot of contemporary, still-up sites' stuff being reposted. galleries with hundreds of images and not a single link

This is much of why I began scouring DeviantArt and the like for the same stamps, buttons, etc. that younger me saved but didn't attribute. The anime sprites are definitely trickier to find credit for (still a WIP) but not exactly impossible either.

smokoswebzone: i had a similar experience where as soon as i found a maker of something, that started a chain lol. sooo many blinkies by the same few people lmao. i agree, older stuff can be hard to track down, though not entirely impossible

I hope the migraines have lessened! I have since learned more specifically why certain foods can act as triggers. It is often because they are "vasoactive," containing chemicals that affect dialation of the blood vessels. That may include phenylalanine (in aspartame, an artifical sweetner), theobromine (in chocolate), tyramine (in red wine), nitrates (in cured meats, like salami), etc.

It is possible to trigger migraines through "medication overuse," particularly of analgesics (e.g.: asprin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc.). That means regular use for up to 3 months. It is somewhat ironic, as one might be tempted to use them to relieve the symptoms. Generally, auras are usually caused by "neuronal depolarization," changes in the electral activity of brain cells...

...due to the imbalance of calcium and sodium ions. It is connected to magnesium deficiency. But the thing actually causing the migraine pain is inflammation of brain tissues, which may be lessed by ketones. The body produces ketones through a diet low in simple carbohydrates (refined flour/grains) and high in healthy fats (mono- and polyunsaturated - like olive oil, avocados, fish oil, etc.).

While it seems more rare, there might also be a link between migraine and hormonal issues (like PCOS in women)...I feel like a lot of neurological, hormonal, and digestive functioning converges in interesting ways, but I digress...Many blessings to you on your healing journey! 🙏🕊️

I had Pisces the Future once upon a time! In theory I love nail polish, but I'm so reckless with my hands it starts chipping in 24 hr. Shellacs or bust.

@dinny oh man the chipping struggle is real ): i plan on reposting my nail care guide including getting it to stay on and i'm even more excited to work on it if it'd be helpful

You know, my aunt suggested using a gen top coat over regular polish to give it more support and ngl I'm tempted to try it because my nails chip within like five minutes of drying.

i now officially have a degree in web development :)

Trying to heal/prevent migraines: Stay well hydrated. But nix sugar and caffine as much as possible (e.g.: sodas, coffee, energy drinks, etc.). Wheat and oranges are common triggers for some. Helpful supplements are magnesium and riboflavin (B2), and possibly Coenzyme Q10. Check with your doctor for specifics, especially if on medications.

While I don't know your situation, I felt like I should share this. Migraines are terrible and I genuinely hope that you find some relief. Personally, I've noticed that "cookies and cream" flavored anything tends to give me really bad migranes, with auras occuring within 30 minutes to an hour of ingestion. Loud noises tend to agitate it as well. Take care 💜

A dear friend of mine has different triggers from mine: blueberries and bright lights. The frequency of her migraines lessened significantly when she stopped drinking energy drinks and adopted a slightly healthier diet (which included drinking more water).
