omg you mentioned that none of your irl friends read, so here are some book recs: Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk, kitchen by banana yoshimoto, convenience store woman by sayaka murata, Frankenstein, no longer human & the moomins series (it's a kid's series, but so cute :3
drive your plow is probably my absolute favorite book, followed by kitchen (really heart warming & short, I read it when I'm in a slump)
also the road by cormac mccarthy! it was so sad that after I was done reading it I just stared at a wall LOL
thats a little worrying tbh but i'll add it to my tbr anyways hahaha
