very well written blog. i agree that its sad and frustrating to see this culture of convenience over self-exploration and perseverance. but i do have hope. as you said, the neocities/indie web community is very encouraging of people learning html/css rather than using ai, so i hope the recent wave of new people will also lead to some of them realizing the value of overcoming a challenge like learning to code.

i think that people who were not raised to think or create don't understand the satisfaction that final products or marked off checklists provide. to read, to think, to create- it's all something that can have moments of "ughhhh" but it's worth it bcs of the "aha!". you come to appreciate the ugh. too many people don't know the process but it *can* be taught :)
i have the same kakuno =) it's so pretty
@clearglass i already have like five fountain pens but the madoromi kakuno series was just too irresistable. i like it a lot!! if it had a larger ink capacity like a piston filler, it'd be amazing but i plan to use this mostly at home anyway
