Well, I've bought https://sckewi.com and some paid PHP/MySQL hosting, and will be moving my site, projects and SSN there the next couple weeks. A massive thank you to Neocities for this wonderful free hosting that's been a big part of my life the last few years. And to any of you who have supported my site/projects in any way be it a visit, like, comment or anything else!

Today I added on-screen controls which appear if you play on a mobile device. I also finished off the handling off full screen and different screen resolutions. If you play on your phone, be sure to go full screen and use landscape orientation for the best performance!

The on screen controls have literally just been uploaded so I can confirm they work on my phone. The on-screen D-pad is definitely a bit hard to use right now and I'm aware it needs some refinement. But I've been at this all day and am probably done until tomorra :P

Oh and finally on phones you can exit full screen using the little cog on the bottom right. :D

The keyboard controls don't seem to work anymore. Is this intentional? Is it detecting my desktop browser as a mobile one for some reason?

Thanks for reporting this, it's a great help! Once again though I can't recreate the issue my end on my machines/browsers. xD Well, unless I activate "mobile" mode in using the browser's debugging tools, in which case the on-screen d-pad appears and the browser ignores keyboard events. But I figure that's due to it pretending to be a mobile phone without a hardware keyboard. Under normal circumstances it's working my

end, but I'll continue to investigate. This might be a daft question, but are you trying to use ASDW instead of the arrow keys? Anyway, thanks for checking it out and reporting the issue. :)

Today I've been working on handling different screen resolutions, aspect ratios and full screen so I can support as many devices as possible. The game now adapts to any resolution and you can enter/exit full screen from the initial menu or using the cog in game. There's still a tad more to do on this resolution/ratio stuff, I reckin one more day on that and I can get on with making the game. :)

Few coins to collect. :) It IS possible to collect all of them! And I should probably mention the first level in the actual game won't be this difficult. xD Next weekend (hopefully) I'm going to concentrate on making the game work on diff resolutions, so I can play it on my phone and TV lol. Then back to building the actual game.

The coins are interesting in that they show you a flight path through the level, but actually collecting them makes the level more difficult. xD

No offense or anything, but is it really possible, though? I can't clear the second obstacle. I put my square on the razor edge of the first one in preparation to descend, and I begin my descent as soon as I possibly can without hitting the first obstacle, yet I still slam into the bottom of the second obstacle. At least on my machine, through careful observation, it is mathematically impossible to clear the obstacle

Hmmm I've tried it on a few PCs with different specs and so far I've had no issues, although it I may have overlooked something. But in the case it's running as it should, although difficult, the trick is to fly slightly past an obstacle, and then fly *left* as well as up/down in order to buy more time for clearing the next. I'll definitely be testing a lot between now

and the first version, so if there is a bug, I'll be sure to sort it for then! In the mean time if you manage to get past that bit it'd be a great help if ya let me know! Hope that helps and thanks for checking it out! :D

Been a very nice weekend, but unfortunately with regards to my project (see prev post) I didn't get much time to work on it. I spent a few hours on it though when I got the chance, and in my local dev version I've made progress on the level editor, and collectible coins are working both in the editor and in-game. :) Bit disappointed I'm already behind schedule on this. Guess I'll have to give myself a pay cut. :^)

Hey all, this is an early prototype I spent the weekend on, of a little game I'm making. Move the square with the arrows and dodge the walls. WARNING: The prototype level is short but TOUGH! I'll be surprised if anyone reaches the end lol.

It IS possible to reach the end though!

Thank you both for trying my game out! I only get a good chunk of time to work on it on the weekends atm, but hopefully each weekend there'll be some decent progress and it should be finished in a few weeks! :)
