*Random thought/decision* I think my days of using CSS positioning tricks to hack elements into looking right between mobile and desktop view are over. From now on I'm going to use JS to listen for responsive breakpoints and simply move the elements in the HTML structure where I want them, thereby enabling me to have much simpler CSS.

A little progress today, the main characters actually talk! And I've put a little bit of graphics in. Still a long way to go, but (in my opinion), it's just about maybe starting to feel a tiny bit like a game now. The controls are Arrow Keys to move, and Z Key to progress the text.

Oh yeah, if you've already played it, you may need to Ctrl + F5 to see the updated graphics. (People not having to do this is on my todo list lol)

Everything is now drew using my new Sprite system (drawing the tilemap this way was confusing lol), now have font printing. Z-ordering is ready although not implemented. I still have some underlying stuff on my to-do list, but I think I have enough to actually make some gameplay now lol. Not actually quite sure what task to do next. xD Time to have a think.

The on-screen thumbstick now works on mobile, so you can move around on phones, and I've made some improvements to the graphics layer, although I'm sure I will need to improve it further. Next job is to get a font in so I can start printing information, and eventually so characters can talk, for menus, and so on. :)

Oh and the preloader shrinks better now and doesn't look like such a mess on mobile lol. xD

QAPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I got fullscreen working on the stupid browser that's just called "Browser" on Android. Turns out I needed "webkit" prefix on some of the fullscreen functions. xD

Ugh, I'm stuck in the underlying stage of making my RPG. Getting the graphics layer, preloader and input working, making sure it works on mobile, etc. I'll be glad when I'm past this stage and working on the actual game, lol. xD

Well, I'm working on an RPG. It's at the extremely early stages, and only works on desktop atm. Here's one of the main characters, Deb, walking around a test map. Press the arrow keys to move.
