I share a nostalgia with you for the preparation of beans/peas. In my case it was pigeon peas. Grandma used to go to la plaza and buy them by the pound, and sit me with her to shell them. I remember being being leery, as worms were prone to slither out of nowhere! Your lovely writing makes we want to grow some beans next year myself 💖
