Honestly, this sounds great. I do not know of anyone else who experiences this. My dreams usually showcase my gruesome death, typically at the hands of another. The last "happy" dream I had was about 6 weeks ago where I was body slammed by Ultraman Nice (specifically Nice), which was more funny than anything else.
I can sometimes control what I say in my dreams. I can speak to anyone in the ways I want. It’s not really lucid dreaming cause I’m not aware I’m in the dream, but it’s still cool
The counting to 10 thing/if nothing happens ignore it regarding ocd sounds good. I'm gonna try doing it myself to see if I can lessen them
@vencake I'm so glad that you found it helpful!! ^^ Two things though, the first one is that one, when you're done, ignore everything BUT by ignoring I mean letting it go!! Because if you try to forcefully ignore it by suppressing it, it will only become worse!! Also two, if your brain starts forcing you to do it, stop it right there, most likely your brain wants to make it a compulsion!!
I mostly did this because my ocd keeps giving me sensations similar to those from when I had cystitis, so my brain is like "omg, you still have it, you must go"!! And I'm mostly just like "it's just a sensation, it's not actually real"!! If it keeps happening for a while though I'm just like "fine, I'll go to the bathroom, but if nothing happens while I'm there, I get out and ignore you until you shut up"!!
oh 100%! It's like when I got recommended in treatment to see it as "it's a tug o' war - you can hold on trying to win it, but you can also choose to let go instead"
There, I've said it, holy shit, I hope that it ends the mental breakdown now!!
thank you for sharing. another step towards healing. sending you all the love. <3<3<3
It's too bad we can't really interact in person, in real time....or that I can't mentally download some of the things that I know about from my brain into yours, so you could see there's nothing really "wrong" with you. Your consciousness is veeery fluid...even more so than most of your generation (which is considerably more than folks from MY generation).
People who channel can "go away and come back" like that. I can't. I'm not that consciously mobile, but it's a skill that's natural to you and can be of amazing use and benefit...except when you feel like you have to make it fit within the limiting box of modern culture. Then it can become a nightmare war between the self.
I would like to make a small, but highly important, suggestion at this point. And that is to please stop looking at this as an "illness". It may be uncomfortable atm. It may sometimes be unsettling or frightening. It may "get in the way" of 'normal life" at times. But you are NOT diseased.
This is something you will need to explore how to flow with rather than fight against. I believe in you.
A singing astrophysicist......in spaaaaaaaaaace!!!!! Yes!!!!
